😱 Is Your Opportunity SLIPPING AWAY? 😱

If you don't know by now, Christ is a God of abundance. He delights in giving those who place their faith in Him the desires of their hearts. However, as abundant as opportunities are, they won't always sit and wait for you to act.
This is perfectly demonstrated in Song of Solomon 5, verses 2 through 6. In verse 2, it states, "...Open to me, my sister, my love, my dove, my perfect one, for my head is wet with dew, my locks with the drops of the night." The groom is looking to see his beloved—his bride—seeking refuge from the dampness of the night.
Over the next few verses, the bride hesitates to take action. She mentions issues such as, "I had put off my garment; how could I put it on?" and "I had bathed my feet; how could I soil them?" It is easy to make empty excuses as to why we shouldn't take action when opportunity knocks. This hesitation often stems from fear, especially the fear that we are inadequate for such opportunities.
The bride soon finds out that the opportunity to see her groom has slipped away for the moment. In verse 6, it is stated, "I opened to my beloved, but my beloved had turned and gone. My soul failed me when he spoke. I sought him, but found him not..." When the opportunity to see her lover knocked, she was slow-footed and missed her chance.
We should not despair when an opportunity is missed, because God is preparing another one. However, we should not develop the habit of being slow to act, as a life full of regret and missed opportunities is not a life we aspire to. When opportunity knocks, swift and decisive actions need to be taken, and faith must be placed in the God who will correct our steps as we move forward.
